Ed committed a fair amount of poetry in the 1970's, when he was hacking a homestead out of the brush, building his first house and working as a logger. After 1980 he and Noel had kids and got too busy for poems. Katy's suggestion to join the reading series led him to open the notebooks again. He has written some new ones, and will read a few of them also. For a couple of decades Ed operated the Humboldt County Library bookmobile, enjoying his status as the one County employee people in remote parts of Humboldt were eager to see.
