Donation Dash – Sanctuary Sorting Day
11:00 am - 6:00 pm
We are getting ready to once again set up a station on the HSU campus to help sort, reduce and divert waste accumulated as students move out of the dorms. Last year we helped divert over 30,000 pounds of resources from going into landfills, and we hope you will be willing to join us again on this noble mission.
The Dash will be from Wednesday May 15th to Saturday May 18th at the College Creek dorms, same as where we were stationed last year. We are having a volunteer orientation on Saturday May 11th from 12-2 pm where we will be reviewing how everything works and you can bring your questions and comments, as well as sign up for your shifts. Volunteer shifts range from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m., in three-hour blocks, so there is a shift for any schedule.
There are other ways to volunteer too. Monday May 20th we’ll be organizing all the food, art supplies and other goods we’ll be redistributing and stocking the Sanctuary with. We are also looking for musicians to perform live at the sorting station on campus to keep up the fun. Signing up to make food or bring snacks to volunteers is another very appreciated way to participate.
