A Lecture on the Birds and Marine Mammals of Southern Chile and Antarctica

Join photographer Alan Peterson for the opening reception of his exhibition, featuring the animals and scenery of southern Chile and the Antarctic Peninsula. At 6:30pm Peterson will present a lecture and slide show detailing his journey south, touching on the history and ecology of his stops along the way.

Featuring images from the Patagonian steppe, islands in the Strait of Magellan and the krill-rich waters of Antarctica, his work captures wildlife ranging from the tiny Tufted Tit-tyrant to families of humpback whales. Learn how penguins raise their young in an unforgiving environment, how different seal species have adapted to thrive in freezing waters and more from our wild friends in the frozen south. Admission is free with a $5 suggested donation.
